How Connect4U Australia is Helping Participants Experiencing NDIS Delays

As many of you are acutely aware, the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is currently experiencing significant delays across several critical areas. Despite these challenging circumstances, Connect4U Australia is committed to navigating this together with Participants and Plan Nominees. Here is some information about what we know about NDIS delays, and how we are actively working to influence the NDIA so that Participants’ voices are heard, and their needs are met.

 

Current State of Affairs

The NDIA delays extend across many areas. These include, but are not limited to, plan reassessments, responses to changes in situations, approvals for essential assistive technology (AT), home modifications, and processing outcomes for home and living applications. These delays are far-reaching and impact the timely delivery of the services and supports Participants rely on.

 

Our Experience and Actions

Here at Connect4U Australia, we share your frustration and concern. Despite the proactive efforts of our Support Coordinators, including lodging complaints and requesting expedited processing, our attempts are often met with the standard response: “The NDIS is experiencing significant delays.” We hope you understand that our team is equally impacted by these delays, as they hinder our ability to deliver the prompt and effective support you require.

 

Our Role and Commitment

Connect4U Australia is not the decision-maker for NDIS processes. However, as Support Coordinators, what we can do is continue to relentlessly campaign on behalf of Participants, continuously pushing for the NDIA to respond and resolve these issues promptly. Our commitment to Participants and their Plan Nominees remains steadfast, as we strive to ensure their needs are addressed, and their voices are heard.

Connect4U Australia promises to keep Participants updated with any new information as it becomes available. Moreover, we encourage Participants and Plan Nominees to reach out to us with any concerns, questions, or additional supports needed.
